Police coerced 18 years old
woman who was raped, to filing a false report
Marie
who is the victim of rape, 18 years old woman, was denied her report of the
sexual assault. Rather Lynnwood police forced her to say that she made the
story. This ruined a girl’s life and caused the rapist commit serial violence
continuously. There were 3 big problems of this event. There was no
professional police staff of rape in the area. Absence of police cooperation
between states. Fault of the police in charge of this case, which is also
related with the education of law enforcement forces. Important fact is that
this is not the case only in America but also happens frequently all over the
world. Law enforcement forces have to keep in mind Marie’s case to avoid making
the second Marie by their hands and to prevent criminals hang around the city.
First of all, mishandling of crime
by law enforcement organization is not rare. For example, in domestic broad casts, there are
some news that real criminal arrested many years after the wrong sentence which
made innocent person live in the jail. We can see many similar news in many other countries also. According to the Heinrich’s law, 1 big incident like Marie’s
case implies that there are 29 sub stages cases and 300 small events of these. we
can guess that there would be further more cases which were mistreated. Although
Marie case was published, a lot of people might have been under the false
accusation and also the real suspect could have repeated crimes for many times.
The role of law enforcement officials is very heavy for the reason that they
can ruin one life. Although the case of Marie is about rape but still we can
learn a lesson from here.
On top of that, to protect our
society from crime, law enforcement force have to know this case. If the police didn’t do
their best or misjudged, original suspects will hang around our city. They can
stay in your village where your family lives. No one want to be the victim of
the crime. The law enforcement authority has to be able to fulfill their
duties. They play an important role for the society peace and it requires case
study.
Although it seems like that we are
under the protection of law enforcement, it can be the double edged sword and
can harm each of us. The law enforcement authorities should practice clear
investigation to protect innocent citizens and for their honor. Nevertheless,
public should not believe them for sure for the reason that they can make
mistakes. To prevent becoming victim of law, we have to know Marie’s case first
and have to urge law enforcement authorities to study this and educate to their
officials. If there is wrong process of law execution, we should make sound to
do it in right method. This is the way that we can protect our children and
family from the brutal offenses.
